Integrated Medical Group

  • Elizabeth Low FNP-BC

Elizabeth Low, FNP.  is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Integrated Medical Group.

She originally attended University of St. Francis, where she obtained her bachelor of science degree in nursing in Telementary unit.  In 2019, she moved into the hospitals nursing administration team where she began floating to various med – surgery  and ICU units in the hospital with the most need for staff. In 2021, she graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion Indiana, with her master of nursing with a specially in family practice medicine.

What made you want to become a nurse practitioner?

I worked bedside nursing for about five years and I was the patient over 12 hours at a time for several days. I enjoyed this time, however, I felt this pull to do more with my career. I wanted more autonomy and the ability to assist my patients in any way possible. So, I decided to go back to school after five years and worked while attending Indiana Wesleyan University full-time.

Why integrated model and not just strictly medical model?

The reason I chose to attend the program at Saint Francis and Indiana Westland University was the focus on holistic care, and not just symptom management. We here at integrated medical group are equally passionate about providing holistic care and responsible pain management options to our patients. It has also seem backwards, to me that healthcare is focused on treatment of disease and not preventative treatment. If I can assist in preventing surgery for a patient with the options we have to offer at integrated medical group, I would feel fulfilled in my duty as a practitioner.  As head practitioner of integrated medical group, it gives me more opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills on a holistic platform for which I am passionate  about.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy spending time with family, especially my husband and son. We have a adorable corgi named Duncan that brings a lot of joy to the family. Otherwise, I enjoy traveling, gardening, and expanding my knowledge.

What made you want to become a chiropractor?

'I've gone since I was a little kid & always loved how it made me feel. Also, I've never been a big pill person, & after working in the pharmacy & seeing a patient in his late 20's/early 30's on SEVEN meds, I asked what was wrong with him. The pharmacist said, 'The sad part is he needs 2, but is taking the other 5 to counter-act the side effects.' That's when I said that there has to be something better than this.'

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I like most things outdoors. I also enjoy crafts & reading. There really isn't too many things I don't enjoy doing.'

What made you want to be a chiropractor?

'I have always had an interest in healthcare. After a football injury in high school, I suffered from migraines. It was not until I went through chiropractic care that I experienced relief for the first time in years. After that, I knew that I wanted to become a chiropractor. It was not only a great experience, but I also agreed with chiropractic on every level, including removing nerve interference & allowing the body to function at its best without the need of surgery & medications.
